General Description: Students must cruise safely in local and regional waters as both skipper and crew on an auxiliary powered sailboat 20 to 30 feet in length, in moderate wind and sea conditions.
Course Focus: Expanded boat terminology, harbor handling and anchoring skills, person-overboard recovery, and extra knot tying and line handling.
Taught on our Ranger 33, this course is designed to build your confidence on the water and increase your boat handling skills.
This course can be offered as part of our three, five or seven day, Cruise and Learn packages. Cruise and Learn allows clients to stay aboard the yacht in any of the secure anchorages or marinas selected by your captain.
The Cruise and Learn option is perfect for clients that would like to leave the crowds behind and take a few extra days on the water to expand their sailing skills and discover the real Hawaii.
This course requires the ASA Coastal Cruising Made Easy textbook and ASA log book. You may order these materials on-line at the ASA Web site.
Participants will receive a Basic Coastal Cruising Certificate upon successful completion of the practical and written tests.
This course may include a slightly different itinerary based on weather conditions and Captain's discretion.
